10 Celebs Who Nailed The Theme At 2023 Met Gala

It’s time for the 2023 Met Gala, or, to quote Chloe Sevigny “Google all the girls in their crazy gowns and judge them all.” However, let’s set the table first. Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, this year’s theme, was deemed controversial as soon as it was revealed. Some people found it difficult to separate the memory of the late Kaiser Karl, who Anna Wintour once called “a paradox” of a person, from the memory of a man who once called Adele “a little too fat” and said he was “fed up” with the #MeToo movement. However, great care was taken to ensure that the exhibition, and by extension the Gala, placed less emphasis on the artist and more on their stylistic vocabulary.
Though the event missed iconic looks from Blake Lively, Katy Perry, and many more, celebs like Doja Cat, Rihanna and Pedro Pascal made sure to leave a mark. Here is a round-up of the celebs who nailed the theme at the Met Gala this year.

1. Doja Cat

Doja Cat went all out for her first Met Gala, she showed up in a stunning Oscar de la Renta gown and cat prosthetics.

2. Jenna Ortega

Jenna Ortega’s deconstructed high-low Thom Browne ensemble featured a corset dress, small tulle pannier, cropped tweed jacket, and long coat.

3. Bad Bunny

Bad Bunny sported a Jacquemus rose-patterned stole and a backless cream suit.

4. Cardi B

Cardi B arrived in a ground-breaking couture look by Chinese designer Chen Peng that included a corset, gloves, and tie à la Lagerfeld.

5. Gigi Hadid

6. Pedro Pascal

Pedro Pascal wore a stunning Valentino look combining a long red coat with black shorts.

7. Rihanna

8. Anne Hathaway

Safety pin detailing, a lengthy train, a matching jacket, and armbands were all part of Anne Hathaway’s embroidered Versace tweed dress.

9. Alton Mason

With a long veil and all-lace outfit from the Karl Lagerfeld line, model Alton Mason personified the Chanel bride.

10. Florence Pugh
