6 Ways To Stay Hydrated Without Getting Bored
I belong to the majority of us who find it very hard to consume let’s say 3 liters of water everyday. Hydration is great when it comes to keeping cramps at bay, and a sulky looking face. But gulping down just plain water isn’t enough for the daily trip to the kitchen.
That is where infused water, over a few years, has been making rounds. And to my pleasure has been a flavorful boost to consuming more than the required liters. Pinterest has been my best-friend to say the least in discovering and experimenting on newer flavors and infusions that are a great companion in this Mumbai weather.
My favorite infusions are (Seasonal and Year-Round):
1. Grapefruit, Sage and Lemon:
This anti-oxidant dominant infusion with grapefruit and lemon make it for a tangy and refreshing slurp. While the delicate leaves of sage supports digestion and holds anti-viral properties to its name. This mixture promises flavor and health benefits in one glass.
2. Strawberries, Lemon and Basil:
A berry that doesn’t disappoint. A combination that gives you the boost of Vitamin C, B and fiber with benefits aiding in digestion, and soothing inflammation.
3. Pineapple, Coconut and Lime:
If Pina Colada had a baby sister, then this infused water would be it. Get transferred to the tropical islands with this mix.
4. Blackberries, Orange and Ginger:
A party of the taste-buds, when 3 strong flavors come together in an infusion. You’ll be damned if you’re not hydrating yourself as well.
5. Watermelon, Kiwi and Lime:
For fruits that speak water themselves – the science and biology of flavor with watermelons and kiwi that helps prevent constipation, kidney disorder and promotes weight loss.
6. Rosemary, Blueberries and Lemon:
A tonic that triggers mental alertness, memory and focus. Rosemary with blueberries is known for its anti-aging properties and low blood sugar.
Berries and lime/lemon have been widely associated through infusion because of their antioxidant properties. When it comes to a burst of flavor and setting up a meet and greet – these ideas work great as a healthy alternative to juices.
Add in your own twists to these existing infusions for a better way to quench your thirst and fill in the sweet craving through impromptu or well-planned fruit-infusions.
