ClapClap had an insightful conversation with Ayush and Ahsaas, where we learned a lot about their journey and passion for acting, here’s how it went.

Which movie made you want to choose acting as a career?

AM: When I watched DDLJ for the first time, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and that era of Bollywood made me want to get into movies, I thought it was so cool. I looked at Shahrukh Khan in the movies and wanted to be him, that’s when it subconsciously started to happen.

AC: When I was about two or three, I memorised all the dialogues from the film Sholay and I used to mono-act. That’s when my mom realised I could be an actor.

If you weren’t an actor, what would your alternate career choice be?

AC: I’ve grown up acting so I think it has become a part of my personality, but if there is anything else I would want to pursue, it would be direction, filmmaking, and music

AM: Primarily, I wanted to be an actor. As I’ve assisted in films, I loved the process of filmmaking. So, it would have to be something around writing, direction, or production.

How would you define your journey in one line?

AM, AC: Picture abhi baaki hai.

What was the most surprising difference you experienced while shooting OTT series and films?

AC: I feel like everything is the same everywhere because we are doing the same thing. We are telling a story. Maybe the only difference is the time. Ads take a day or two to shoot, but films and web series take longer.

How did you two first meet?

AM: It was long back, we met on a set when we were shooting a candy ad. Then we met when we were doing a sketch, she had her own sequence in the sketch, and I had mine, but we shared a dressing room.

What’s the most bizarre rumour you’ve heard about yourself or a co-actor?

AM: The most bizarre rumour I’ve heard about myself is that I’m married and I’m hiding it.
AC: I’ve heard people say that I’ve had a sex change operation but no, I was born a girl.

Are there any directors on your wishlist?

AM: Imtiaz Ali sir is on my wishlist, if I do something with him, I know we’d gel a lot, and I like his essence of cinema, his layering in characters and everything he does.

AC: My top three would be Rajkumar Hirani, Imtiaz Ali and Zoya Akhtar.

They’ve conquered our hearts and redefined what it means to be an artist. And guess what? They are taking their talents from OTT platforms to the big screen, ready to blow us away with their magic! Hold on tight because their incredible journey is just getting started.
