K-Beauty: Your Secret To Achieving Glass Skin

We fell in love with glass skin, snail slime, and everything in between after first discovering adorable cushion blushers, BB, CC, and even DD creams. It’s official: K-Beauty has emerged from the depths to firmly establish itself in the beauty world.

What exactly is the K-Beauty trend?

This isn’t another Kardashian franchise situation, which is refreshing. K-Beauty is the key to looking as radiant as humanly possible. It is just a label to categorise the Korean influence over our own skincare regimen and the amazing product imports from the country itself. Although K-Beauty is no longer a new idea to us, for a while its traditionally kitschy appearance kept it confined to teenage beauty cabinets.

The 10-step Korean beauty routine

People were both interested and frustrated by the famous 10-step skincare routine of K-Beauty when it first came out. Korean women traditionally prefer radiant “glass” skin to a heavy foundation. A lengthy routine that emphasises cleansing, toning, and multiple layers of hydration helps them to achieve glowing skin. This is a typical night time skincare routine from the K-Beauty industry. Of course, many of these steps can be skipped in the morning (such as skipping the oil cleanser and the makeup remover), and others can be added on a weekly or monthly basis.

1. Makeup remover for eyes

Because the skin around your eyes is thinner and considerably more fragile, it cannot be assumed that a regular cleanser will perform well without causing irritation.

2. Cleanse twice

Yes, there will be two cleansers: an oil-based first cleanser to remove makeup and dirt from the surface of the skin, and second a foam or gel cleanser to remove dirt and impurities from the pores.

3. Exfoliate

No hard-core daily exfoliants can be found in the K-Beauty aisles since Korean women believe that less is more. Some professionals advise exfoliating every other day, but others only advise doing so once a month. Most people find that using a light AHA-soaked pad twice a week is a good compromise.

4. Tone

Toner is to prepare the skin for the following steps by removing any remaining washing residue.

5. Treatment Essence

Essence is less complicated than it may seem; these fluid formulations are essentially a lighter version of serums designed to prepare your skin for the next steps.

Although we don’t advise using sheet masks every day, they are a wonderful weekly treat that can help your skin retain more moisture and achieve that elusive glass-skin sheen.

8. Eye cream

Your eyes require immediate special care and attention since the skin is delicate and prone to fine lines and pigmentation.

You’ve already made so much progress; why not seal the deal with an intensely hydrating or detoxifying overnight pack? The eight other products you’ve already applied to your face will boost it this time.

10. SPF for the morning

Of course, the SPF is the most important one of the entire routine. Each and every day. Apply it liberally to avoid sun damage and all the unpleasant side effects that come along with it.
